EnergyLab participates in the Cervera H2ENRY Network: the alliance of 5 Technology Centers to promote renewable hydrogen

The new Cervera Network “H2ENRY” will be coordinated by the Cidaut Foundation, and will include Aicia (Andalusian Industrial Research and Cooperation Association), ITE (Energy Technology Institute), the Leitat Technology Center, and EnergyLab. Under the name H2ENRY, this initiative aims to promote research and implementation of sustainable solutions for the production, storage and application of renewable hydrogen in order to facilitate the decarbonization of the Spanish industry.

The collaboration of these technology centers represents a wide range of sectors and experience in key areas related to renewable hydrogen.

Hydrogen has increasingly emerged as a clean, versatile energy source that can play a critical role in the transition to a more sustainable energy future. To achieve this, it is crucial to address the technical and economic challenges associated with its large-scale production, storage and application. This is where the H2ENRY project seeks to make a difference.

The H2ENRY project will be carried out over the next 20 months, with the end date being June 2025. The project is subsidized by the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) and supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and Universities. «Cervera Centers of Excellence». This project is linked to the 2023 call for the accreditation and granting of aid procedure for Technological Centers of Excellence “CERVERA”, within the framework of the State Research, Scientific and Technical and Innovation Plan 2021-2023 and the Recovery Plan , transformation and resilience – Funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

The results and advances obtained during this period are expected to have a lasting impact on the promotion of renewable hydrogen solutions globally and achieve a cleaner planet thanks to the disappearance of the carbon footprint.
