Financing entitiesRecovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Next Generation European funds, within the framework of Royal Decree 685/2021, of August 3.

Description

The objective of the project is the development of a new technology that combines the processes of anaerobic digestion and dark fermentation for the production of renewable gases (biomethane and bioH2) that can feed a bioreactor for the production of microbial protein, using effluents and by-products from the processing of marine products as raw material, which can be used as a new source of protein in the food sector.

EnergyLab's Tasks

EnergyLab performs the following tasks:

  • Characterization and evaluation of currents: sampling and physical-chemical characterization, and interpretation and classification.
  • Generation of gaseous resources: determination of potential, optimization tests, biogas conditioning, enrichment tests, process optimization, system integration, and process evaluation.
  • Environmental evaluation of the system for obtaining microbial protein (SCP): preliminary studies, analysis of the environmental profile of the SCP obtaining process, and comparison of scenarios and contextualization of results
