Description

NEPTUNUS’s main objective is to promote the sustainable development of the seafood sector in the Atlantic area by providing a consistent methodology for products eco-labelling and defining eco-innovation strategies for production and consumption under a circular economy approach.

EnergyLab's Tasks

EnergyLab will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Development of a comprehensive life a cycle database of extractive fishing, aquaculture and processed seafood products in the Atlantic area.
  • Evaluation of seafood products exchanges between the area and other regions: import and export balance.
  • Analysis of the Energy-Water-Seafood Nexus of the seafood supply chain under a life cycle approach in the area.
  • Development of an eco-label and a methodology based on water, carbon and nutritional footprints nexus that enables consumers’ decision-making and sustainable consumption.
  • Implementation of circular economy strategies in the seafood supply chain.
