Description

The main objective of APROAVI is to improve the competitiveness of poultry farms through the recovery of poultry manure along with other organic waste, promoting its conversion into renewable energy (biogas and pyrolysis gas) and fertilizers based on digestate and biochar.

EnergyLab’s Tasks

EnergyLab, besides being in charge of the management and coordination of the project, participates in the following tasks:

  • Identify and establish the characteristics of the main organic waste generated in the region of A Limia and Baixa Limia.
  • Maximize biogas production by reducing the inhibitory effect of nitrogen present in poultry manure in the anaerobic digestion process through co-digestion with abundant agricultural waste in the study area.
  • Establish the effect of pyrolysis temperature on biochar formation (yield) and on its main properties.
