Description

The PDApp project promotes the reduction of food losses and waste (FLW) in the agri-food sector through digital tools based on the principles of the circular economy and bioeconomy. Specifically, a decision support service will be designed for companies and agents in this link that will help them prevent FLW. This service includes the necessary accompaniment so that they can digitize their Plan for the Prevention and Reduction of Food Losses and Waste, an element that will be mandatory in the future.

Work will also be done on a digital tool that seeks to allow the exchange of surpluses generated between different agents (processing industry, NGOs receiving donations, livestock farmers, feed manufacturers, etc.), guaranteeing traceability and reporting of PDAs to the administrations, which is also expected to be mandatory once the state regulations in this regard have been approved. In addition, an accurate diagnosis of food losses and waste in the fruit and vegetable sector will be carried out and awareness will be raised about the importance of measuring and reducing FLW.
